Ubiq is proud to present POSTER 0 — SHINOBI, the first NFT to launch on the Ubiq platform.

POSTER 0 — SHINOBI is a redeemable ERC1155 NFT on the Ubiq platform (frame not included) by artist TunaChum

Introduction

Ubiq is proud to present the first redeemable ERC1155 NFT on the Ubiq platform. This was drawn by the talented artist and member of the Ubiq community, TunaChum.

This is available now for 88 UBQ and is only available in a limited quantity of 88. That’s right, only 88 will ever exist.

Available at: https://poster.ubiqsmart.com

Since this is a digital asset, you can buy the poster and hold it. You have the freedom to redeem it later or transfer it to another address. While we don’t currently have a secondary market for NFTs for Ubiq (this is in the works), there is also the possibility to resell an unredeemed token.

POSTER 0 — SHINOBI is a 12 x 18 inch poster printed on museum quality matte paper. Every redeemed poster ships for free worldwide to any country which doesn’t have legal restrictions on imports (Cuba, Iran, Crimea, Syria, and North Korea). The SHINOBI poster pays tribute to our decentralized trading platform Shinobi.

Technical details

POSTER is an ERC1155 contract which differs from the original ERC721 Non-Fungible Token standard in a few ways, one of them being that the ERC1155 standard allows you to have a collection of NFTs under the one contract. We hope that this first poster is successful and that we can bring more exciting posters to the public.

We have also deployed a Poster Shop contract which allows the purchasing of POSTER 0 through a Dapp.

Our smart contracts are available on GitHub: https://github.com/ubiq/ubiq-poster-erc1155

The ERC1155 contract uses standard contracts from OpenZeppelin whereas the Poster Shop contract was written from scratch but includes full test cases in the codebase.

Poster Shop (https://poster.ubiqsmart.com)

In building the Poster Shop, we took inspiration from the Unisocks project however this felt this model of Automated Market Maker (AMM) pricing does not work out favorably as it will never reach a scenario where all of the units will be sold out and the pricing curve quickly hits a point of being undesirable.

Background

On a personal level, this release symbolizes a journey which has come full circle from my earlier days in crypto. Jumbucks Crypto Community Cards was the first crypto asset project I worked on back in 2014 but that was when the crypto community was much smaller.

While this was a good overall project, we weren’t able to put out more cards in the series (we had plans for over 100 cards) since the crypto community was too small. In retrospect, a lot of the ambitious projects which launched in this time period were just ahead of their time.

I’ve spent my fair share of crypto funds on purchases and other experiments so I am a firm believer in active user engagement in the crypto economy. “HODL” for the sake of just inactively holding funds leads us to the Ponzi scheme mechanics of investments.

Having been involved in crypto since 2013, this scene and industry has been life affirming and life changing. I’m happy to see where the industry has progressed. Hopefully we can continue to change the world one decentralized transaction at a time.
